Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Bring back the original formula!
When Zylene first came out, I lost 30 lbs taking it. I only took one a day, and felt very energetic and had zero hunger. I had to force myself to eat anything, so I could eat really small portions. Nothing has ever worked as well for me.

Then, Health4Wealth (the company who makes it) started messing with the formula. They changed some things, and now they're on the 4th version of this product. I've taken every version, and the only one that made me lose weight at all was the first one. But it really worked.

Now when I take it (I keep hoping it will start working again), I have to take two per day or else I get really hungry -- sometimes it feels like I'm hungrier than I would be if I hadn't taken one. If I don't eat anything by around 2:00 I feel extremely nauseus for hours. It doesn't seem to rev up my metabolism like it used to, and I am pretty sure the only weight I've lost (the occasional 2 lbs here and there) is mostly water weight because it doesn't keep dropping like it did with the original stuff. Overall, I'd say I now have more negative effects from taking this product than positive.

I've looked all over for the original formula, but I don't think you can get it anymore. Can't even find it on eBay. It worked then, but unfortunately, it doesn't anymore.

Bottom line: do not waste your money on this product unless you can by some miracle find the original release formula. If you find that, buy as much as you possibly can and then email me! That stuff is the real deal. The current stuff sucks.

I've heard it said by Dave Winer and many many others: if only Dean had reinvested half the money raised into the Internet, then ...

OK, so you're the Dean Campaign Chief Information Officer in August 2003. The money starts to roll in. $20 million over six months, $2-4 million per month.

What would you spend the money on?

  1. What does your monthly budget look like?
  2. What is your application and infrastructure portfolio?
  3. How much will you allocate to maintenance?
  4. You're building from scratch, so what problems do you hope to avoid through wise architecture?
  5. What are your big milestones?
  6. Who are your key vendors?

How do you spend in consonance with the campaign strategy?

  1. How will you use the Internet to bring offline voters into the campaign at the same numbers as radio or television broadcasts?
  2. What is your online strategy for responding to attack ads and opposition pundits in radio, television and print?
  3. Online community takes time to build and is very hard to organize geographically. What will you do to match the state-by-state primary schedule?
  4. What can you do with online services to serve the campaign in caucus states?
  5. You are preparing for Bush to launch in Spring 2004. What are your countermeasures to reach out to moderate Republicans online while the GOP uses its advanced voter email systems to barrage 200 million validated email addresses?
  6. How will you lower the cost-per-vote vs. the GOP?

On one level, this video is fun because it explains how computers work in the most dumbed-down language imaginable. On another level, it's from the 90s, the golden early age of the internet. And it's aimed at the elderly, creating the trifecta.

Yes, Surfing for Seniors is a real gem, explaining how computers work in terms old people understand, like fair games and libraries. The video itself isn't too exciting, mostly consisting of a shot of this old lady's back as she scrolls up and down intercut with close-ups of her clicking those mouse buttons of hers. But the sensible, incredibly dumbed down advice is pretty awesome. [Cynical C via The Daily What]
