Editorial Review:

Product DescriptionWhat is a Salicylic Acid peel? Salicylic Acid is the new generation of products for improving the appearance of ageing skin. Dermatologists now agree that Beta Hydroxy, Salicylic Acid is a superior exfoliant that improves the appearance of ageing, sun-damaged skin without all the irritations associated with the Alpha Hydroxy, Glycolic Acid. Salicylic Acid Peels are effective in reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and improving overall facial texture because it exfoliates both the skin surface and within pores, without all the irritations commonly associated with the Alpha Hydroxy, Glycolic Acid.' It has been found that Beta Hydroxy, Salicylic Acid is effective with as little as one-fifth the concentration typically found in products containing Glycolic Acid. In a single study comparing a 1.5 percent Salicylic Acid product and an 8+ percent glycolic acid product, the Salicylic Acid product was shown to be a more effective exfoliant. Great For Acne Salicylic acid is highly effective for acne and oily skins. It is oil-soluble and lipophilic so it penetrates sebum filled follicles and helps to unclog pores, loosen and lift out blackheads, even out skin tone, and prevent future outbreaks. Salicylic acid blends powerful skin exfoliation with skin soothing actions. It has ultraviolet absorbing properties that help to protect the skin from the damaging effects of the sun. A series of salicylic acid skin peels can be utilized to: Diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating collagen production and improving skin density and firmness Visibly reduces pore size Evens skin tone, minimizing areas of discoloration Soothes, conditions and moisturizes Effectively treats stubborn skin conditions, such as acne and environmental/sun damage Delivers cumulative benefits and optimal results with weekly treatments For all Fitzpatrick skin types. Ideal for acne, hyperpigmentation and premature aging.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Bad Customer Service
If you place an order with Skin Laboratory be warned! I tried placing an order with them recently for this product but made a mistake when doing so. I immediately tried contacting the company so the problem could be corrected. Much to my surprise there is no phone number listed so you must rely only on email. Unfortunately, after my 3 attempts for contact failed, I received the wrong merchandise. It wasn't until I wrote a 2 page letter, attached copies of the emails, and returned the merchandise that I was given a partial refund. And the only reason I knew I got a refund was because PayPal sent me an email. This is what you will read on their website: "If you ever have a question, just send us an e-mail: service@skinlaboratory.com and you will have our immediate attention. You may continue to email customer service at anytime if you have questions about your product, any customer service concerns." BUT believe me - that wasn't the case. To this day - 3 weeks later - they have not attempted to contact me about this problem. That's bad business!!

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - not THAT good !
this gel did not made my skin peel or even my skin tone
i've seen little results of pore minimizing and THATS it

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Product on Ebony Skin
I started getting acne young, when i was about 10 and i didnt know how to look after my skin then. No cleansing, toning or even moisturizing because i thought that would give me more spots, what a fool i was.
The problem with black skin is that it hyperpigments easy and by the time i was 21 i couldnt bare to look at myself in the mirror, i had so many acne scars i couldnt stand it. Dermatologists were no help, the pills and creams are useless if you dont have a good skin care regimen which is something the doctors dont usually tell you.
In 2001 called around and was told by everyone on Harley Street that dermabrasion and skin peels were not for black skin tones so i paid £1800
for lazer treatment. It worked to some extent, the spots went and my skin looked clearer but if i had known about this product i wouldnt have bothered.
The truth is that these skin acids can and are used safely on ebony skin tones and have been for years. I am a caramel complexion (like Tyra Banks), my first peel ever was the Skin laboratoty 70% lactic acid peel and i experienced no problems at all, just be sure to follow the instructions. My second peel was the salicylic 20% peel by Skin Laboratory and my skin looks great. My skin is visibly clearer, lighter due to the fact that the hyperpigmentation is fading, i just look great and i'm so happy. And for the price, its a bargain compared to £200 per month on microdermabrasion or £1800+ for a course of lazer treatments. I would highly recommend both the product and the company. I honestly cant imagine my life without these peels now, i'm totally smitten.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Works fine for the face
I didn't quite know what to expect when I bought this. After reading instructions I gave it a shot, it burns somewhat but no worse then putting a liquid bandaid on. After three days or so I noticed the top layer of my skin was starting to peel. Week and a half of using it every other day and my skin has peeled twice and returned to normal.

I can tell the difference, like one reviewer noted yes it doesn't completely get rid of a scar but it did what it was supposed to, blend it in a lot better. Newer scars are completely gone, older one faded just a bit. I would buy this again.

Netbeans 6.5 is recently released. Along with tons of new features, it has some enhancements for Web Services development. The foremost is that with Netbeans 6.5, you can easily develop Web Services applications and deploy on to Glassfish V3. There are are other features like configuring WS-Addressing, and exposing a SOAP based Web service as REST service through GUI caught my attention.

Startup VoIP provider DeFi makes big claims, but delivers worldwide calling from a smartphone for $40 or $50 per month: DeFi has a very stripped down business model designed to appeal to a specific, but large class of traveler. They make software that's currently available for Nokia S60 phones (E and N series), and later this year for the iPhone, that acts as a kind of VoIP shunt for calling behavior. When you place a call, the software determines whether you're on a Wi-Fi network, and routes the call out that way; if not, it goes to cell. It also routes inbound calls, and can ring your cell phone's number if you're not on a Wi-Fi network and your inbound DeFi number gets a call.

For $40 or $50 per month (1 or 3 inbound phone numbers, respectively, in any of about 30 countries), you get 3,000 minutes (they call it "unlimited") of calling to and from 75 countries. This includes cell lines in Europe, typically a huge extra for most VoIP plans. DeFi said they signed deals directly with carriers, which they say most VoIP providers have not.

Wi-Fi access works at what they say is "1 million" hotspots, but is really Fon plus several tens of thousands of typical hotel, café, and airport venues. Wi-Fi fees are included for VoIP and data in the monthly subscription. DeFi uses Devicescape behind the scenes to handle no-entry authentication to their Wi-Fi footprint.

The integration is the key point DeFi makes about their product, and may be a stumbling block for an iPhone application. The head of DeFi told me that the company wants their service to require no behavioral changes for customers. Of course, users still have to make sure when they're in areas in which a cell call would be expensive that they don't accidentally wander away from a Wi-Fi hotspot. And Apple doesn't currently allow the kind of integration that would be required for call handling and interception, although DeFi said it's having no problems in its development work.
