Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Caveat Emptor
Does it help you to stop smoking? Absolutely!
The only problem is that now you are addicted to the gum. Admittedly, with the price of cigarettes these days, it saves money; but I've been hooked on the gum now for three years, and it's harder to quit this stuff than it ever was to quit smoking!
My advice: Try somehing else.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great "quit smoking" aid
I could not have stopped smoking without the help of Nicorette gum. At first it tastes rather strange, but once I got used to it, it helped tremendously with cigarette cravings.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - It is still poisoning you with nicotine.
The simple truth is that no magic cure has ever " made " any smoker quit smoking nicotine. The key to immediate and lasting abstinence is education and understanding not hypnosis , not acupuncture and not some over-the-counter nicotine product that teaches absolutely nothing while robbing 93%of those who toy with clean-nicotine of a valuable opportunity to master the core principles underlying years of nicotine dependency. Remember, should all else fail, you always have you!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - the best product ever
one of the best ways to quit smoking. The only problem with it that its hard to get the gum out of it's sealed pack. I believe it should be packed in a much better way.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - It will work if you do it right
Are you tired of throwing away big money day after day for what basically amounts to a slow, painful death? Sick of coughing up phlegm when you wake up each morning? Maybe you're just tired of smelling like a casino? I smoked for over 10 years but got off the death sticks with the help of Nicorette.

I tried the inhaler and hated it, felt like I was breathing hot pepper into the back of my throat. In all fairness I really didn't give it a chance as I lost it the day after I bought it after only a couple uses. Most people I know haven't been able to quit using the patches alone but your results may vary. Personally, the gum satisfies the urge to keep my mouth busy. If you're ... Read More

Ted Shelton: "Frankly I felt that BlogOn was a waste of time and money."

I think the BlogOn conference was overproduced. In the name of professionalism the organizing firm turned off potential speakers, oversubscribed sponsors, etc.

I would have liked a debatable topic (aside from *blogging = journalism*. Two people slugging it out. Or a devil's advocate taking challenges from the floor.

I would have liked more hard numbers. Facts. Charts. Diagrams. We have the analytic tools to BS-check them; harder on vague opinions and single-points-of-observation.

I found it disturbing how much money was being commanded (from both attendees and sponsors) for a conference at a university. Maybe it was because it was at Berkeley? Maybe we should have taken over a community college or a Cal State or a DeVry. The facilities costs would have been cheaper at least. I heard an organizer apologize and say the next one would be at a hotel, like that would have been better.

Cost wasn't the whole problem. We're at a stage where early adopters are meeting folks who want to leap the chasm. Huge gaps in knowledge, experience, context, culture, vocabulary. It's the gap.

There are huge ideas to be explored, even in the world of applying blogs to media strategy and the enterprise. And most of the big ideas weren't even on the agenda at BlogOn. Probably because it was catering to those who want to commercialize, fund, and otherwise exploit (excuse me, "get in on") the emerging medium.

Let's fork these conferences so advanced topics on business and technology and culture fit the participants.

DETROIT/WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A top lawmaker predicted Washington would approve a bailout for U.S. automakers after they submitted survival plans, and General Motors Corp and Chrysler LLC said they needed an immediate infusion of cash to avoid failures.

It wasn't a Merry Christmas A few years ago while visiting friends in Germany, we made a trek to Verdun, France. As an American, I had no clue as to what was there other than it was an old city dating to the (Pre)- Roman era.
I was shocked and humbled to what I saw. The greatest battle (possibly in the history of modern warfare) was at the very place I was walking.
At the Douaumont Ossuaire, we video taped our tramping about. Below the bldg, there are windows that peer into...what to call it? A giant room filled to the top with bones and skulls. I taped for a few minutes and then felt an overwhelming sense of sadness. I was looking at 130,000+ forgotten warriors. I shut of the camera and destoyed the tape. This month, please take a moment to remember the fallen. My respect to those who died. As an American. Previosly.
