Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Very Quiet, works well, a few hiccups
I did a ton of research before buying a warm air humidifier. Across the board, not many rated well, particularly the newer ones. So I finally decided on this older model by Honeywell because it got the least complaints and bad ratings. (At several websites I checked, it rated at least 2 stars higher than any other brand or model). I've had it for about a month now and I really like it.
1) It's extremely quiet (which was a huge priority for me because I'm a light sleeper). The actual running of the machine you cannot hear at all. There is a faint whisper of the air blowing through the vent, as quiet as someone blowing out a candle very softly. Not bothersome at all. And compared ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great for the cost, but know what to expect.
A quick education:

HUMIDIFIERS - The Up Side:
1) Add moisture to the air, thereby...
2) Cut heat costs
3) Alleviate sinus problems
4) Ease cold season drying of the skin and hair

HUMIDIFIERS - The Down Side:
1) Too much moisture means mold and mildew
2) Smaller units require frequent, usually daily cleaning.
3) Warm mist units use more energy than cold mist units
4) Life expectancy of smaller units isn't that long
5) Must be placed away from any walls or wood flooring to avoid water damage.

WHAT TO EXPECT OF A HUMIDIFIER:
1) You get what you pay for: Hassle-free units last for years with ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Very good humidifier
We've had this humidifier about 4 years now and I have to say I'm impressed it's still working. Previous warm air humidifiers we have bought only seemed to last 1 season. Cleaning is easy and I like that we don't have to replace filters. I have extreme allergies and am very sensitive to dry winter air. I have had both hot and cool mist humidifiers but I prefer the hot mist. I just have my doubts as to how clean the cool mist humidifiers are and have worries about germs brewing whereas I think the warm mist heats up and kills any mold or germs. (I'm no expert, just my own personal opinion.) I have to give it 5 stars because I love this humidifier.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Not as Good as I originaly thought - read last part of my review.
I am very sensitive to dry air so I've always had humidifiers and become quite a self-made expert in what makes a good one.

There are really only four considerations when buying a humidifier:

1. What kind of humidity does it put out? Steam? Cool mist droplets? Warm-mist droplets?
2. How much noise does it make?
3. What is its tank capacity?
4. What is its output?

TYPE OF HUMIDITY: This one puts out real steam, like a vaporizer. This is not quite clear from the description because it calls itself a "warm moisture humidifier". I don't know what warm moisture is. Some companies say "warm moisture" and they mean something different ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great and Quiet
I searched and searched for the right humidifier and this one is perfect. It is really quiet, works perfectly and I'm very happy with it.

Amazon.com is offering a so-called Black Friday special on Eye-Fi Share:
The 2 GB Wi-Fi-enabled Secure Digital card normally runs $90; it's $65 while the sale lasts.

Given that Eye-Fi introduced a limited-time-only 4 GB "Anniversary" model that replaced the 2 GB Share version in its current line-up, and that the Anniversary model was $130 list but $100 for Costco members, it's pretty clear that the 2 GB won't re-appear, the 4 GB model will drop in price, and Amazon's acting as a clearance center.

The Eye-Fi Share lets you upload pictures over a local network to a designated computer, or upload via a Wi-Fi network for which the Eye-Fi is configured to connect over the Internet to Eye-Fi's servers, and from there to a specified photo-sharing, social-network, or photo-printing service.

I'm a fan of the Eye-Fi, although I favor the currently $130 Explore model (see my review), which comes with geotagging (via Skyhook Wireless) and adds a year of included uploading via Wayport locations (now part of AT&T).

This year has seen several young companies--including Orbius--offering to harness the power of social networking for business.

SAP co-CEO Henning Kagermann allegedly held strong concerns at one point about the legal implications of buying TomorrowNow, the now-shuttered SAP subsidiary tied to a lawsuit filed by rival vendor Oracle.
