Editorial Review:

Product DescriptionThe Eva-Dry Electric Petite Dehumidifier uses Peltier Technology (no compressor) which makes it light and quiet. It is perfect for bathrooms, and small to mid-sized rooms where dampness and humidity are a problem. This unit is small enough to easily fit on your desk or workbench. It extracts the moisture from the air and stores it in a spill-proof reservoir. Just plug it in and it quietly dries the air. Features an automatic shut off switch to shut the unit off when the water reservoir is full. When this occurs a 'full' indicator light will alert you when the reservoir needs to be emptied. Holds up to 16 oz.

Features:
  • Whisper quiet
  • Renewable reservoir
  • Compact size is perfect for bathrooms, closets, and R.V.s
  • Low energy consumption

Customer Reviews
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Works just fine
I've been using this little dehumidifier in a basement closet for a month now and it's doing the job well (and quietly, too). I had a WindChaser before this and it stopped working after about three years.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - worked for 2 years
I used this item (edv-1100) constantly in my camper and it worked really well. I believe that the ac/dc adapter is what has failed with mine. I am now looking at the next size bigger. My location is in MS where the humidity is often in the 90%+ range. The edv-1100 worked well for me, I wish it had lasted longer.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Defective
When I plugged it in, the "full" light would not turn off -- so the dehumidifier would not turn on. There was no Customer Service number in the box, so I had to look it up on Eva Dry's website. When I called the number (not toll-free), the Customer Service person said the sensor was defective and I could mail the dehumidifier to Florida for repair. No thanks! I'm returning it and trying a different brand.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great for small spaces!
This little humidifier is small, quiet and works great for small spaces, like storage areas in your basement. Sucks water out of the air and makes wet spaces smell better. Totally recommend it. Won't work for larger spaces.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Neat little dehumidifier.
Works fine, but it is small and it really only works well for small spaces.

Eclipse3.1M3 comes out later today..

I've heard it said by Dave Winer and many many others: if only Dean had reinvested half the money raised into the Internet, then ...

OK, so you're the Dean Campaign Chief Information Officer in August 2003. The money starts to roll in. $20 million over six months, $2-4 million per month.

What would you spend the money on?

  1. What does your monthly budget look like?
  2. What is your application and infrastructure portfolio?
  3. How much will you allocate to maintenance?
  4. You're building from scratch, so what problems do you hope to avoid through wise architecture?
  5. What are your big milestones?
  6. Who are your key vendors?

How do you spend in consonance with the campaign strategy?

  1. How will you use the Internet to bring offline voters into the campaign at the same numbers as radio or television broadcasts?
  2. What is your online strategy for responding to attack ads and opposition pundits in radio, television and print?
  3. Online community takes time to build and is very hard to organize geographically. What will you do to match the state-by-state primary schedule?
  4. What can you do with online services to serve the campaign in caucus states?
  5. You are preparing for Bush to launch in Spring 2004. What are your countermeasures to reach out to moderate Republicans online while the GOP uses its advanced voter email systems to barrage 200 million validated email addresses?
  6. How will you lower the cost-per-vote vs. the GOP?

The proposed acquisition of Macromedia by Adobe is not a done deal. Both companies are under the scrutiny of the SEC, and it must also be approved by stockholders. While Macromedia/Adobe gives this process three to nine months, some industry analysts feel that is being overly optimistic. But assuming that all is goes as planned, Macromedia will cease to exist. Everything will be in the Adobe name and with the Adobe interface.
